The grave of the gypsy primate János Mihok

Cemeteries, tombstones, graves

In the second half of the 19th century, the reputation of the Galánta musicians was also enhanced by József Mihók and his band. They not only entertained the Esterházy family, but also often performed outside the country. ; The foundations of one of Zoltán Kodály's most famous works, the Galánta Dances, were inspired by the songs and verbunkos heard from the twelve-member band of the local "world-famous" gypsy prima, János Mihók. ; János Mihók is buried in the old cemetery in Galánta.
