Martyr's monument, military graves

The Martyr's Memorial (also known as the Memorial to the Victims of Fascism or the Memorial to the Martyrs), a sculpture group made of welded copper plates, created by the Komárom sculptor János Nagy, was inaugurated on May 7, 1971, following a competition announced by the Council of the City National Committee. The work, depicting human remains and the horrors of war, rests on a high pedestal, with a stylized eternal flame in the foreground, and a date: 1939–1945.
