Bell of Soul and the World War II Memorial

Örös organized an unusual event in the cemetery on August 2, 2020. The funeral bell and the new memorial erected for those who died in World War II were handed over and consecrated. The funeral bell is held by a masterfully carved bell base, which praises the work of Lajos Balla. The World War II memorial was made by Krisztián Bányácski. The surroundings of the morgue were also completely renovated. ; A large number of people from the village gathered for this joyful event. The mayor, Gyula Horváth, greeted the gathering with his ceremonial speech. Then, Tibor Szemán, a Roman Catholic priest, and Nt. Miklós Kiss, a Reformed pastor, blessed and consecrated the funeral bell and the memorial. The atmosphere of the event was enhanced by the songs performed by the Kőkút folk song circle and the Karcsa-parti ensemble. ; Finally, the organizers warmly welcomed everyone present to the local community center for a small feast, which lasted in a very good atmosphere until late in the evening.
