Mass grave of legionnaires

Cemeteries, tombstones, graves

The joint memorial to the Hungarian, Czech and Slovak victims of the 1919 Battle of Párkány is located in the old cemetery. ; There were disagreements in Párkány regarding the memorial to the legionnaires and their victims, but they eventually reached a consensus. The graves of the 6 Hungarian Red soldiers and the 12 legionnaires were both restored in the cemetery, and as a sign of reconciliation, the Slovak-Hungarian Friendship Society placed a joint Hungarian-Slovak memorial plaque on the memorial stone originally erected in memory of the legionnaires after the First World War on May 30, 1999, on the 80th anniversary of the battles for Párkány. ; ; On the other side of the mass grave is the grave of Major Josef Zerzoň, who died in Párkány in 1932.
