The grave of Mrs. Pálné Kuzmik

Pál Kuzmik (Eperjes, 22 June 1864. – Bp., 19 Dec. 1925.): surgeon, university professor. From 1889 he worked at the surgical clinic of Bp.. In 1891 he was an assistant professor, in 1897 an assistant professor, in 1898 a private teacher of surgical surgery. In 1905 he was a professor of surgery. In 1908 he was a chief physician at the János Hospital. In 1909 he was a professor of surgery. From 1914 until his death he was a professor of surgery at the Bp.. He was the head of the 2nd surgical clinic. He developed the surgery of varicose veins, cancer, and injuries. His works on these subjects were published in the Hungarian Medical Archive and the Medical Weekly. ; The Kuzmik family had a castle in Karva, on the banks of the Danube, which they used as a summer residence. The doctor's wife, Margit, was the sister of Dr. Imre Szarvassy, so they considered the Szarvassy castle their home. The Kuzmik couple had two daughters and a son: Margit, Pál, Lívia. ; In the former Szarvassy Park, in 1908, Szarvassy's brother-in-law, Dr. Pál Kuzmik, had an Art Nouveau castle built, which he used as a summer residence. In 1935, the building was modernized. From 1956, the confiscated building was used by the agricultural vocational training institute, and then in 1961, the Karva health center was located there. Since 1970, the building has been owned by the Pintér family. In the studio, which was located in the back half of the castle garden, in the 1930s, Lívia Kuzmik's husband, the Dutch-born painter Hubert Sweerts-Sparock, created works. The castle is a two-story building with a rectangular floor plan. The plain facades are divided by three-part windows with corner cornices. The western facade has a polygonal risalit, with wall strips in the bends, on which there is a terrace. There is a loggia in the southeast corner, and a closed balcony with a large window in the middle of the ground-floor facade.
