István Kúti (Uzoni) (June 8, 1867, Marosvásárhely - April 19, 1912, Selmecbánya) After graduating from high school in Sibiu and law in Cluj-Napoca, he was the sub-registrar of the Cluj-Napoca city orphanage from 1893, then the city sub-registrar. In 1895, he was appointed the deputy police chief of Selmecbánya. From 1907, he was the chief police chief of Selmecbánya. He was the editor and for a while the owner of the local newspaper Selmecbányai Híradó. He died in 1912, leaving six Kúti boys orphaned. After his death, the children were raised by his own nephew, Miklós, the son of his eldest sister and Albert Sztancsay of Matsesd, who took great care of them. He was the city's chief notary at the time. Secretary of the Szitnya department of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1897-1901-), clerk (1901-).
