He was born in Kislég on May 17, 1925. After graduating from elementary school, he trained as a carpenter. In 1944, he moved to Budapest and worked there as a laborer. He returned to Csallóköz that same year. In the years following World War II, he worked as a carpenter's assistant in Bratislava, then at the Czechoslovak Construction Company as a foreman. ; The Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, which was already in power at the time, sent Dezső Krocsány to a one-year political course, after which he was the director of the Stavomontáž company from 1952 to 1954. In the following years, he was the chairman of the construction committee of the West Slovak District National Committee, and then headed the economic department of the West Slovak District Committee of the Communist Party of Slovakia. In addition to the above, he held numerous state, party and public positions. He was a government commissioner for the 1965 Csallóköz flood, and was elected an honorary citizen of the flood-damaged city of Nagymegyer. ; He was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (1968), and for decades of the Central Committee and presidency of the Csemads. He was the Minister of Labor and Welfare of the Slovak Socialist Republic, and was then elected a representative of the Slovak National Council and its vice-president. ; He received numerous awards: the Order of Labor Merit (1955), for Excellent Work (1965) and the Gold Commemorative Medal of the Central Committee of the Csemads. He was loved and respected in the southern districts of Slovakia, but especially in his narrower homeland. On many occasions he provided moral assistance to young Hungarians, high school and college students. He died on October 3, 1991. He is buried in Légen (Szaszon).
