Kálmán Köves was a Roman Catholic parish priest in Farkasdon between 1878 and 1910. He is credited with building the kindergarten (which has since been demolished), building the Catholic school in 1882, and drilling the artesian well. The volunteer fire department was established in Farkasdon in 1890. Its founder was Kálmán Köves, a Catholic priest who became the president of the organization.
