Spear tree
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
In July 2010, the local government had a headstone erected, which was made by Mirko Pintér, a carver from Ipolyság, from wood provided by the village. The stability of the headstone dug into the ground is ensured by H-shaped iron bands screwed on both sides, and crushed stone was rammed into its base, which also provides the basis for the light-colored paving slabs laid around it. The carver placed the speaking motifs on the front of the headstone, which ends in a stylized tulip: the first large field contains the name of the village from different eras, a folk-inspired flower was carved in a medallion below it, and then follows the figure of King Saint Ladislaus resting his hand on his battle axe. The series of carvings is concluded by the year of the first written mention of the settlement, emphasized with an indigo motif. The lowest part, which can also be considered a plinth, contains the fateful years of Hungarian history – engraved on a metal plate. The side fields are barely worked, do not have an independent symbol system, they are merely spatial supplements to the carvings on the front. The back is decorated with smooth, plastic, wave-like patterns, and in the lowest field, the master carved his name and the year of the erection above a tulip sprouting from a heart. The space around the headstone is bordered by flowerpots made of round wood planted with annual flowers. ; ; Dimensions ; Column: 24 x 350 x 25 cm, Upper inscription field: 23 x 50 cm, Plate: 50 x 20 cm
