Zoltan Kodály International Violin Competition
; The life and work of the renowned Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály is closely linked to the city of Galánta. With the Galánta Dances, he made the name of our city known throughout the world, for which posterity can be eternally grateful to him. As a sign of our gratitude, we wish to organize the Zoltán Kodály International Violin Competition every year and, similarly to previous years, we send invitations to music schools operating in southern Slovakia, as well as to music schools operating in cities that have established good relations with our city. ; ; This year, in 2020, we will organize the Zoltán Kodály International Violin Competition for the 20th time. With this event, we would like to arouse interest in this wonderful instrument, primarily in our region, but also in the entire Highlands, and to find young people who can follow the excellent musicians from whom Kodály himself learned his love of the instrument and, as he himself admits, he owes it to them that he became a Hungarian composer. ; ; It is a good feeling that the number of participants in the event is increasing year by year and the music experts and members of the evaluation committee are pleased to note that the professional preparation of some of the participants in the competition also shows significant professional progress year by year. Among the members of the main committee and the professional preparatory committee of the event, there are a significant number of people who have been among the organizers since the beginning, and there are several who have contributed to the realization of the festival on all fifteen occasions: - István Beyer, associate professor at the University of Western Hungary - István Madari, founder of the Nyitra Private Conservatory, director of the Collegium Cantorum Chamber Orchestra - Szabolcs Tóka, director of the Székesfehérvár Music School, Conservatory - Győző Kovács, founding director of the Mohács Private Music School - József Apaceller, director of the Pécsvárad Music School - József Pálinkás, director of the M. Bodon Pál Music School in Kecskemét - Tünde Kállai, deputy director of the Kolozsvár Conservatory - István Gyöpós, teacher of the Bratislava Music School, Conservatory ; ; The competitors and trainers who participated in the previous years keep in touch with each other regularly and inform the festival organizers of new interested parties. They decide together on the implementation of the various training courses and, depending on the funds, participate in various professional meetings, training courses and courses. We regularly inform the individual trainers about various international events and further training opportunities. Many of the competitors from the past fifteen years have successfully applied to various music schools and colleges, music academies, and many have achieved unrivaled success with their art at various other international festivals. Several participants of the Kodály Zoltán International Violin Competition have become members of various world youth orchestras. ; ;
