* Óbuda, October 12, 1831 – † Bratislava, April 26, 1898 / historian, Catholic priest, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1873) ; ; He studied humanities in Nagyszombat and theology in Esztergom. First he was a teacher at the seminary in Nagyszombat, then a supervisor of studies in Bratislava. From 1860 he was the archdiocesan sub-librarian and archival registrar in Esztergom. In 1871 he was appointed canon of Esztergom, in 1878 abbot, in 1890 a bishop, and in 1895 provost. Together with Iván Nagy he edited the Hungarian Scientific Dissertation in 1862, and from 1863 to 1869 the Hungarian Zion.
