Knapp House
Building, structure
The Knapp House, which has been renovated with great care, is now home to the Arany Sas Szálló. Dávid Knapp had his lavish, Art Nouveau-style house built on the site of the Majtényi family's single-story house in 1905-1906. He was a Jewish merchant and entrepreneur: he dealt in agricultural machinery, sewing machines, and Lincoln and Ford brand passenger cars. His charitable activities were known throughout the city. He is buried with his wife in the Jewish cemetery in Léva.
