Son of János Sámuel Klein, schoolmaster and Erzsébet Solcz. Igló, Szepes m., 1830. July 21., evangelical. Student. Single. (Later married and started a family.) ; 1848. Sept. 14. joined the cs. kir. 10. Vilmos hussar regiment, with four companies of which he joined the army (the Felduna army) in October. 1849. Jan. 3. wounded in the battle of Tétény. Feb. 23 (48. Dec. 16.) - lieutenant, Jun. 11 (1.) - first lieutenant in the regiment ibid., or in the Kmety division. ; At the end of the War of Independence he fled, but returned home in the autumn of 1849. In February 1850 he was conscripted into the cs. kir. 10. hussar regiment. 1851-lieutenant, 1854 - first lieutenant, 1858 - captain, 1869 - major, 1873 - lieutenant colonel, 1877 - colonel. 1880. retired. Knighted. ; 1890. Lives in Igló, member of the Szepes County Honor Society. Died in Karlsbad on April 27, 1892. ; His remains are buried in the family tomb in Igló.
