The monument to the displaced was unveiled in the park in front of the school in August 2017. The statue, designed by Peter Augostovič, was made by craftsmen from Vezekény. Almost half of the village's residents were displaced, one hundred and seventeen families, four hundred and seventy people had to leave their homes, and another one hundred and fifty residents were deported to the Czech Republic. ; The mayor of the village, Miklós Tončko, gave an emotional speech in which he remembered the local residents who were displaced from the village after World War II. Uncle Jani Gáspár, who was also once displaced from the village, recited his poems at the event. The commemoration was attended by Konrád Rigó, State Secretary for Culture, József Berényi, Vice President of Nagyszombat County, as well as numerous district and county officials and László Bukovszky, Government Commissioner for Minorities. ; Several hundred people were present at the statue's unveiling, and those who had been displaced also visited their home villages. Guests from Vezekény's Hungarian twin town, Pitvaros, also came to the commemoration.
