Kisudvarnok Road Cemetery

Cemeteries, tombstones, graves

In the late 1950s, in parallel with the drastic closure of the former cemetery in Dunaszerdahely, citing “urban planning reasons”, a new four-hectare cemetery was established on today’s Kisudvarnok Road. Several families from the former Újfalu cemetery, which operated between 1780 and 1957/61 (which was located under the area of today’s hotel and district office), transferred their own graves to Kisudvarnok Road, but several old grave markers and historical sacred monuments were barbarically lost. ; Today, the Calvary sculpture group stands in this cemetery, and several notable Szerdahely tombstones can be found here.
