Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The local parish was founded in 1755, and the Roman Catholic church belonged to the deanery district of Dunaszerdahely. Its parish priest was Count János Pálffy. ; At the turn of the century, its parish priest was Márk Papánek, and then Dr. Jenő Hegyi was the papal chamberlain and parish priest. ; According to the publication Catholic Hungary 1001-1901, the church in Alsónyárasd was founded in 1754 and built in honor of the birth of the Blessed Virgin. Fiókegyháza Felsőnyárasd. ; The Gothic-style Roman Catholic church was rebuilt in a late classicist form. To the left and right in front of the choir are frescoes depicting the miracles and speeches of Jesus. In front of the altar, there are symbolic representations of the seven sacraments on the ceiling - two of them on the side walls. The Roman Catholic church, facing the altar, has the Last Supper painted on the right wall, St. Peter's Pentecost sermon on the left, and the Nativity of the Virgin Mary on the altarpiece. On the main altar, there is a statue of St. Paul on the left and St. Peter on the right. ; The church's frescoes were painted by the graduating students of the Bratislava Academy of Arts in the 1970s. At that time, the main altar painting was also replaced. At that time, there was still the Visitation of Mary painted by R. Gaupmann in 1860, and the painting depicting Mary Magdalene from 1858. ; There are 3 bells in the church tower, the first of which was made by R. Mandušek and his associates in Brno in 1922. The inscription on the edge reads: "For the followers of the Lower and Upper Nyárasd r. k.". The second bell reads: “Alsó Nyárasdi Roman Catholic community. Seltenhoffer Frigyes fiai cs. and M.K. court bell casters in Sopron 1912.” The third bell – the large bell – has the inscription: “Alsó and Felsőnyárasdi r. k. hívek. R. Mandušek a spol. Brno 1922.”
