St. Imre Roman Catholic Church of Királyrévi
Building, structure
The church was built between 1834 and 1836 in the classicist style. It is a single-nave building with a straight closure, an attached sacristy and a tower built into the gabled main facade. The nave has three fields of Prussian barrel vaulting with inter-vault bands. The pseudo-Gothic Saint Imre high altar was made in the applied arts workshop of Benedek Réthay at the beginning of the 20th century. The high altar is decorated with a painting depicting Saint Imre. The wooden pulpit with a historical character was made around 1900, and the bas-reliefs of the four evangelists can be seen. The baptismal font is also of a similar design. The free-form painting of Saint Joseph made in 1898 is the work of József Hofticher. The original organ, made in 1836, was replaced in 1935, the current organ was made around 1900 in the workshop of the Rieger brothers. Four bells hang from the tower. Bullets carved into the church wall commemorate the battle of June 21, 1849. The names of 25 victims of World War I are engraved on a black marble tablet.
