Bridge near King's Tree
Building, structure
The balustraded, baroque-art nouveau bridge spanning the Black Water was built by the Pálffy family and connected the English and French ornamental parks that formed their estate. The buildings did not survive, so this bridge, which seemingly leads from nowhere to nowhere, is now part of a bicycle path built in 2002. It acquired its current form during the reconstruction in 1904 and the renovation completed in 2007. ; The bridge was designed by engineer János Nagymihály in 1903 and built a year later by Italian master builders and stonemasons. The bridge, whose concrete sides are filled with red bricks, bears elements of the art nouveau style popular at the beginning of the 20th century. It is 42 meters long and 4.8 meters wide.
