St. John the Baptist Castle Chapel
Building, structure
The Church of St. John the Baptist, built in 1712, was originally the chapel of the Pálffy Castle, of which it formed the southern wing. The interior of the Baroque church was designed by the sculptors Lajos Gode and Rafael Donner. After the gradual demolition of the castle between 1942 and 1944, only the castle chapel remained standing, which was later declared a monument.
