Catholic chapel in Madar
Building, structure
Turning off the main road, we find the Catholic chapel on the left, which was consecrated in 1938 to the glory of the “Holy Trinity”. The building housed the kindergarten for many years, until 1973. This street was only formed in the seventies, and then construction was permitted. Since then, it has been called “Patkó Street”. The kindergarten, which is now called “Napocska Kindergarten”, was built here in 1972. ; From the history of Madar, we can learn that between 1550 and 1570, a Catholic monk named Antal was the priest of the Catholic Church. His school, parish and small stone church operated in the village. The stone church was converted into a mosque by the invaders during the Turkish occupation and was used until 1684.
