Károly Kanka (Modor, 17 Oct. 1817 – Bratislava, 1910) was a physician and ophthalmologist. He obtained his doctorate in medicine, surgery and obstetrics in Vienna in 1842, and later his ophthalmology degree. From 1842 to 1848, he was an assistant at the ophthalmology clinic of Professor A. Rózsás in Vienna, from 1848 to 1849, he was a military physician, and from 1850, a national ophthalmologist. From 1864, he was the chief physician of the Bratislava State Hospital, and from 1882 to 1892, its director. His writings on ophthalmology were published in domestic and foreign newspapers. ; The tombstone is in good condition, but the name on it is almost illegible. In 1993, the Harankovič and Szolnoki families had it renovated.
