Statue of John Calvin in Ipolybél
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
At the initiative of László Pásztor, a doctor born in Ipolybéli, together with his siblings, they donated a wooden statue of Calvin to the Ipolybéli congregation in memory of their father, which was made in Csicsó by Sándor Steinbach, a woodcarver from Veszprém, at an artist colony led by Géza Nagy. The statue was erected in the courtyard of the Ipolybéli Reformed Church as part of a festive service and statue inauguration ceremony. Dean Attila Lévai spoke about the significance of Calvin at the statue, as well as Csicsó woodcarver Géza Nagy.
