Calvary
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
One of the cultic places of Roman Catholic settlements is the calvary. The calvary is usually an elongated, grassy area, with seven stations on each of its two longitudinal sides, a total of fourteen, and at the end opposite the entrance, a calvary chapel is usually built on a high place, and the crosses of Christ and the two thieves stand. ; The spread and use of calvaries are connected with the idea that Christians at least symbolically walk the path of Christ's sufferings from the judgment by Pilate to his burial.
