Calvary
Sacral small monument
In the parish charters, we can read, among other things, that Julianna Lipthay, a member of the renowned Szécsénke family, left 50 forints in her will dated 12 August 1797 to maintain the Szécsénke Calvary. After World War II… it grew into a bush. A few years ago, with the support of the local government, the area around the three crosses was cleared, and the entrepreneur László Deák, who hails from the village, renovated the cross of Christ and the two thieves. The brownish wooden crosses with straight stems continue to preserve the memory of this place. ; ; Initially, they regularly visited the Calvary during Lent and on the days of the Cross, but they also stopped here during the blessing of wheat. On Easter Sunday, the church procession came out here with the priest. They went around the crosses with the statue of the risen Christ, then went back to the church. (Rozália Naszvadiné Hornyák, 1924) After World War II, the custom was abandoned.
