On the Passion of Jesus

1. We remember the suffering of Jesus, sinners. ; Let us mourn his death with his painful holy mother. ; With pity and weeping, praying ; Let us go on the holy way of the cross. ; ; 2. The Lord of life is condemned to death for you, ; So that for your countless sins you do not fall into hell. ; The Lord of heaven himself is given to torment, to an ugly death ; He gives it to the cross. ; ; 3. He takes a heavy cross on his weak, wounded shoulder, ; Rejoices that it can save your soul from the burden of sin. ; Ah, do not ease, do not burden ; The cross of Jesus with sin. ; ; 4. In the evening, because of many tortures, he is deprived of strength, ; Under the heavy cross he falls face down to the ground. ; Alas, they do not pity him, they even laugh at him, they kick him with their feet, ; They drag him like cattle. ; ; 5. The pain of Jesus' heart is greater, because he sees his mother, ; A sharp dagger pierces Mary's heart. ; That her holy son, a gentle lamb, is being pushed around, ; They beat him, beat him, drag him. ; ; 6. Seeing that Jesus would get tired, ; He would no longer have the strength to carry the cross. ; They simply ask, force him, threaten him, ; That he would carry his cross.
