Julius Schmidt (Gyula Schmidt) was a wine merchant who, in addition to his daily occupation, also took on social duties (member of the Medical and Natural Sciences Association of Poznan, 1904). Around the turn of the century, he was also a member of the city council and the leadership of the Lutheran parish. ; Alajos Rigele created tombstones for many wealthy citizens of Poznan in the first third of the last century. A symbolic "Poznan Pantheon" could even be composed of tombstones containing portrait reliefs or partial portraits.
