"Újvároska, Nyitra m. 1 Dec. 1819. Son of István J., landowner, and Teréz Pratser. Hungarian, evangelical. Graduated from the Academy of Economics in Magyaróvár. Economic trainee. Unmarried. (1852- wife Mária Zelenay, died Csejte, 1900.) ; In October 1848 he joined the 16th Home Guard Battalion formed in Érsekújvár. 1849. Feb. (16.) - lieutenant, Mar. (16.) - first lieutenant, with his battalion he gave the garrison of Nagyvárad. May. 19 (1.) - captain in his battalion commanded by the Upper Hungarian (IX.) Corps. He fought throughout the summer campaign from the beginning of the Russian intervention until the surrender of Lugos (Aug. 19.) ; 1849. Sept. 2. was enlisted in the 39th Infantry Regiment. Later he was a manor clerk, then he farmed on his estate. † Csejte, Nitra m. 1907. Sept. 21."
