In 2006, at the initiative of the local government (Mayor Erzsébet Csízik, Deputy Mayor Imre Sárkány) and the Baka Foundation of Csemadok (President Zsolt Darnai), the memorial plaque was placed in the lobby of the village office. ; ; On September 24, 2006, on the Zoltán Jankó Memorial Day, the village of Baka was enriched with a literary memorial. The life story of the Baka-born writer was presented by teacher Zsolt Darnai and a team of treasure hunters made up of his students. The students had previously successfully presented their presentation at the national student conference of the Treasure Hunters, and the Minister of Education also congratulated the students and their teacher at the Government Office in Bratislava. ; ; The celebratory speech on the memorial day was given by poet László Tóth on behalf of the Hungarian Writers' Association of Slovakia. ; ; Until 2012, the local elementary school organized the Zoltán Jankó Literary and Cultural Day annually on the occasion of Hungarian Culture Day or Hungarian Poetry Day, organized by teachers Zsolt Darnai and Tímea Krascsenics Darnai. On such occasions, the students, representing the school, laid a wreath at the writer's memorial plaque.
