Arnold Ipolyi's memorial plaque

The outer wall of the [church] nave is decorated with a memorial plaque to Arnold Ipolyi with the following text: “Here this place raised Ipolyi in the prime of his life. While he was a permanent ornament to the church and the homeland. Art and science mourn his passing, and his great name will be remembered as long as the Hungarian people live. Born 1823 Oct. 20. Died 1886 Dec. 2. He was buried by his county admirers, 1887 Oct. 20.”; The plaque was indeed made at the indicated date with the text by István Pajor, but it was only placed the following year, and then in its current location during the construction of the current church.
