Holy Trinity Chapel in Ipolybalog

The Holy Trinity Chapel stands on the edge of the village. Written sources about the construction of the very simple, rectangular, gabled, tiled-roofed building differ in the year of its construction. (If 1842 or 1871 is the real date, it is certainly closer to reality than some opinions that assume the building's Baroque origin.) The interior of the chapel is illuminated by two round, stone-framed windows. A small hussar tower rises from the ridge of the chapel's roof. A shallow, gabled-roofed windbreak was built in front of its only entrance. ; There is a painting depicting the Holy Trinity on its altar. An old, probably Baroque wooden statue of Saint Joseph can also be found in the chapel, which was brought here from an unknown place. ; On the hill - true to its name - there was an old, now abandoned cemetery, some of whose tombstones can still be found around the chapel.
