Immaculata statue in Levant
Sacral small monument
The construction of the Reformed church behind the statue was viewed with deep distaste by the city's citizens of other religions between 1785 and 1788. In 1786, in defiance, the Catholics erected a Baroque-Classicist-style column in front of the church under construction, on which they placed a statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. She was depicted standing on the globe with clasped hands while trampling on the head of a snake. A halo with 12 golden stars was placed above her head. The statue was renovated in 1992.
