The carved stone statue of Andrew II was erected in honor of the city's celebration of the 800th anniversary of its first written mention in 2014. György Ferencz, a sculptor from Nagykapos, carved the bust from Imreg andesite stone, which was partly donated by the public, and is 1.25 times life-size.
