Published by Matz Gusztáv Iglón 1901. - Reproduction prohibited. ; ; Matz Gusztáv photographer and postcard publisher ; Born on August 3, 1860 in Gölnicbánya, probably into a wealthy mining family. He received his photography training from Károly Divald, from whom he purchased the Iglón photography studio in 1890. ; In 1890, Matz Gusztáv married Anna Hegenbart. The studio was based in Iglón, but the couple gradually opened branches in Levoča, Poprad, Barlangliget (Tatranská Kotlina), Korompa (Krompachy), Szepesváralján, Rawitsch in Silesia (now Poland), and they had business representatives in Yugoslavia. ; Matz Gusztáv primarily focused on portrait photography, but he also photographed numerous monuments and cities in Szepes, as well as events. In 1898 he published a publication, The Beautiful Bélai Dripstone Cave. He adapted to the fashion lines of the time and published postcards. These were black and white or brown tones, but also colored, and many black and white pictures were made into cartridges painted with plant motifs. ; Gusztáv Matz died in 1903, but the studio operated until the 1940s under the direction of his wife Anna (1869-1946) and his brother Károly Hegenbart (1875-1946), to whom the copyright of the later photographs was attributed. Dittmar Ferencz (1867-1932), who worked in the studio mainly as a painter but also as a photographer, made a significant contribution to the operation of the studio. ; Gusztáv Matz died on October 29, 1903, and was buried next to his parents in the cemetery in Gölnicbánya.
