Igloi Theatre and Entertainment
Building, structure
The building, which shows signs of eclecticism and art nouveau, was originally built as a permanent Hungarian theater according to the plans of Kálmán Gerstner (Pest, October 9, 1850 - Budapest, August 25, 1927), but after Trianon this institution was also taken over by the new government. ; The building was built between 1899 and 1902. Architect Kálmán Gerster designed the building so that in addition to the theater, it also provided space for a hotel, a concert hall and a café. ; The main decorative element of the building is the coat of arms of the city of Igló depicting a swan, which is also a symbol of song and poetry. The fresco by József Hanula (Háromszlécs, April 4, 1863 - Igló, August 22, 1944), a painter from Igló, is also noteworthy.
