Igloi Immaculata (Immaculate Conception) Column

Sacral small monument

The column with the statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, the Immaculata, is a monument that has stood in the heart of the city since 1724, in front of the parish church. ; The Holy Trinity Column in Igló was built with the support of the former Polish mayor, Lubomirski Konstantin Teodor. During the so-called Polish pledge, the count had similar columns erected in other Spiš towns, the oldest of which is in Igló. The Immaculata was made by the stonemason Friedrich Horn from Levoča. ; The Holy Trinity statue has previously required renovation several times. The last renovation was between 2009-2010, after more than 110 years. The renovated Immaculata has been moved, so that the city's residents and visitors can admire it in one of the rooms of the town hall. Naturally, a noble copy was placed on the column.
