Hunnic relief

Statue, monument, memorial plaque

The relief was carved into the rock wall below the Trenčín Castle by sculptor Mihály Kara, thus commemorating the heroes of Trenčín during World War I. The monument was inaugurated on October 4, 1916, but when the Czechs entered the city in 1918, they destroyed the monument because it depicted a Hunnic female figure, and in 1921 a Giskra relief was carved in its place.
