Heroes' Cross

The Heroes' Cross stands in the new, southern part of the cemetery. This cross stood in the village, in the square in front of the current cultural center, for a few decades. In a 1918 cross foundation document, we read that a new Heroes' Cross was erected in the middle of the village of Varbó with the donations of the faithful, with the contribution of 900 crowns from the Hungarians of Varbó living in America, in place of the wooden cross, which was erected from the foundation of the cross made by Franczia Janka on III. 26, 1818.
