The Csemadok organization set the goal of erecting the monument in the year of the millencentenary, when the Mečiar government was in power and prohibited the creation of similar memorials. Therefore, the village did not dare to undertake to move it to another area of the settlement. After much debate on this matter, and thanks to the efforts of the then president Zoltán Dániel, the memorial cross was erected in front of the church thanks to the local parish priest Ján Orosch. Pál Csáky, a member of parliament, gave a ceremonial speech. The ceremony was attended by: László Dobos, vice-president of the MVSZ, and Győző Bauer, national president of the Csemadok. ; The memorial cross was inaugurated in September, the year of the 1100th anniversary of the conquest of Hungary, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. ; The organization holds the 1848 commemoration at the monument annually on March 15, with a wreath-laying ceremony, and on October 6, the Arad martyrs are also commemorated here with candlelight, wreath-laying, and the singing of the national anthem. ;
