In 1973, he earned an acting diploma in Budapest, then became a member of the Hungarian Regional Theater in Komárom (artistic director from 1981). In the early 1990s, during the administration of Sándor Beke, his relationship with the theater became looser, he started a business, but he still returned to his theater for a role. From June 1, 1994, he became the director of the Jókai Theater in Komárom. However, his unexpected death prevented him from carrying out his plans and fulfilling his career. Since 1968, he had been a regular participant in the programs of the Hungarian broadcast of the Bratislava radio, often participating as a host of various events. He has played minor roles in Slovak and Hungarian films, and has written scripts and scripts for evening programs and stage productions. The villagers, family members, and high school classmates talked about his childhood and high school years: András Mészáros, university teacher, Gellért Reicher, secretary of the Szőttes Folk Dance Ensemble, and Imre Németh, told the story. ; As part of the memorial evening, the artists of the Komáromi Jókai Theatre took to the stage for a few songs: Tibor Fabó, Krisztina Holocsy, Mari Varsányi, Tibor Tóth, accompanied on the piano by Zsuzsanna Pálinkás Andrássy. ; At the end of the evening, Tibor Fehér, mayor of Illésháza Municipality, posthumously named István Holocsy an honorary citizen.
