He completed his theological studies in Prague, then obtained a Hungarian-Latin teaching certificate in Budapest. From 1943 he taught at the Benedictine Gymnasium in Komárom. From 1945 he continued to teach Hungarian high school students in Komárom in secret for nearly three years. After being expelled from the country in 1948, he settled in Canada and then in the United States of America. Until 1958 he was a teacher at the Slovak Gymnasium in Cleveland, then he founded a Benedictine monastery and a Hungarian-language Benedictine gymnasium with his fellow Benedictines in Woodside, California. Between 1984 and 1990 he was the president of the National Committee of Hungarians in Slovakia and the editor of the newspaper Kettős Járom Alatt. After 1989 he was one of the initiators and financial supporters of the emerging Rákóczi Association. In 1994 he moved to Hungary. ; ; Kristóf Hites, originally Endre Hrotkó (August 26, 1913, Csicsó – May 26, 1999, Pannonhalma) was a Benedictine monk and teacher. His statue was inaugurated by János Sárközi and Csaba Fehér, organized by the Cs.Cs.Cs. Kht. and the Hungarian Christian Democratic Union, and consecrated by titular abbot György Herdics. The statue was inaugurated by the surviving member of the Hrotkó family, surgeon-chief Ferenc Bastrnák.
