Hetény 940th anniversary plaque

From the welcoming speech of engineer and mayor Ferenc Magyari at the unveiling of the commemorative plaque: ; "Every intelligent person lives their life with the intention of leaving a mark, a memory. Most people are given the opportunity to leave a mark: they build a house, plant a tree, raise a child. The possibility of peaceful creation is a great gift of humanity. ; We are part of historical moments today, on this beautiful autumn day. We celebrate our home, Hetény. It was recorded in writing 940 years ago and donated under the name Wagetuin. It is true that the name has changed over time, our village is now on its third site, but since then, with greater or lesser interruptions, it has been home to the people living here. The history of our village abounds with creative, constructive, beautiful periods, and we have not been spared the misfortunes that the Tatars, the Turks, the fires and the wars meant. Our ancestors have always overcome the blows of fate, and even with difficulty, they have created again: they built a new house, plowed and sowed again. and planned a better future for their children. Our storks are also returning, who have become symbols of Hetény because of their perseverance and attachment. The stork leaves its home every autumn, but returns with renewed strength in spring, builds a nest, and raises its chicks here, among us - three this year! It feels at home. And what is home? Our childhood, the familiar language, the familiar houses, the gardens, the trees, and the memories of states in which we love and are loved. Before this, we bow our heads before the love that has been enriched over the centuries. We wish that our persistent work and the spiritual richness of our hearts will keep Hetény alive for a long time. And our descendants and children will remember it as their home, Hetény, where they belong, where they should be, was in good hands sometime in 2015. ; Dear Ladies and Gentlemen! ; My last thoughts are words of gratitude. Thank you to the guardians, the guardians of the memories and memorial sites, the initiators and implementers of the plaque inauguration. I wish that this rock will stand here for a long time. May it be a symbol of almost a thousand long years, a memory of the steadfastness of our ancestors for us, and for our descendants for the thousand peaceful years to come. God bless Hetény!"
