Bell tower in good sense

Building, structure

The settlement's sure landmark is the late medieval belfry, which stood on the eastern edge of the original village, at the highest point at the time. Today we can find it among the houses. It was renovated in 1892. ; When the funeral bell was rung for a Catholic, the small bell was first rung, followed by the large bell about a minute later. In the case of an Evangelical or Reformed deceased, the opposite happened, so the residents knew from the bells which denomination the deceased belonged to.

Inscription/symbol:

The inscription on the large bell: 1888 CAST BY SCHOLTZ ADOLF CSETNEKEN FOR THE FAITHFUL OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF JÓLÉSZ / the inscription on the small bell: MADE FOR THE CATHOLIC ECCLESIA OF IOLÉSY 1801 / UNDER THE DIRECTORSHIP OF MR. LULEY
