Memorial plaque of István Gyöngyösi

The memorial plaque was made by the municipality of Nagybalog in 2006 during the time of the then mayor Dana Cochová. Until now, there was no place to commemorate the work of the poet of late Hungarian Baroque literature, who was the captain of Balog Castle in 1668. The memorial plaque was placed on the wall of the local cultural institute. ; The Csemadok Nagybalogi Alapszervezet is the venue for the commemoration of István Gyöngyösi, which is regularly organized by the Nagybalog Foundation. Every year on July 24, it organizes a Gyöngyösi Memorial Day in memory of the former castle captain. As a way of cultivating the Gyöngyösi cult, the memorial tour titled Following István Gyöngyösi with the youth at the foot of Balogvár has become traditional.
