György Gyevát ; ; * July 31, 1950, Vága – † December 29, 2006, Galánta / athlete, coach ; ; Gyevát was born as the first child of Árpád and Mária Valéria Forró, on July 31, 1950, in the village of Vága, Mátyusföld. The family also had a little girl, his sister, Regina. ; He began his schooling in his native village, at the Hungarian-language elementary school, which operated under the name "Vágai Kilencéves Középiskola" from the 1959/60 school year. Then, in the nearby district seat, at the Galanta Apprenticeship School, founded in 1960 and then located at 765 Partizán Street, he studied electrical engineering. (The predecessor of the current commercial and services vocational high school located on Kodály Zoltán Street.) He spent two years of military service in České Budějovice, Czech Republic (1970-72). He remained in his profession for the rest of his life, working as an electrician in Diószeg, Galánta and Bratislava. He also baked wafers as a private entrepreneur, like so many families in Vága. ; ; His sports and coaching work: ; Young He lived among the weights from the age of 18. At first, he trained in the basement of their family house, and then in 1969 he continued in the first league team of ČSZTV Dunajplavba Bratislava in Bratislava. He considers the active weightlifting competition at that time, his individual fifth place at the Slovak Championship, as his most successful, and the sixth place in the European Championship in the Masters category. ; After his sports career in Bratislava, he initially led the strength training of the judokas and karatekas in Galanta. In 1996, he founded the Galanta Bodybuilding and Powerlifting Club in the Galanta Sports House. He became the coach, the purchaser of the indispensable equipment, the willing advisor, and at the same time the club's everything. ; "He had a big heart and knew how to give, regardless of how much he got in return.
