Béla Gruber's tombstone

The famous Bratislava sculptor, Alajos Rigele, created the tomb of football player Béla Gruber. The twenty-one-year-old athlete and his teammate died in 1922 when they were struck by lightning during a match. The tomb is located in Sector V/2 of the cemetery.

VI. 25. / As a sign of his gratitude, he erected this tombstone / from the pennies of the Hungarian sports society / ČsAF – Hungarian Footballers' Association / BRAZILIAN DISTRICT.
