Cemeteries, tombstones, graves

The grave of Count János Berényi is located in the courtyard of the Church of St. Stephen in Beckó. ; Count János Berényi Karancsberényi (Felsőbodok, April 14, 1794 – Beckó, June 25, 1868) was the chamberlain of Palatine József. ; He completed his studies, partly under the guidance of his father and partly under the guidance of churchmen, at his parents' house until 1814, and then entered the Bratislava Military School. In that year he moved to Vienna. After the Hundred Days, he marched to France with the regiment bearing the name of Tsar Alexander I, while participating in a few battles. After the Second Peace of Paris, he returned to his homeland, where he served as a soldier until 1829. At that time, he left the army and started a family. At first, he spent his days in Székesfehérvár, and later in Beczkó. The management of his insignificant estate did not require much time, he lived mostly for literary studies. From 1840 onwards he was a regular visitor to the Diets in Bratislava, where he took a seat among the nobles. During the events of 1848–1849 he lived in seclusion in Beczkó. At the Diet of 1861 he reappeared in the nobles' house, where he happily welcomed the turn of events for the better. ; Works: ; • Das grosse Zeitalter Franz I. Kaisers von Österreich. I.
