The tomb of László Gracza, a soldier
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
A more thorough analysis of the gravestones in the cemeteries of Lukanénye and the burial places of the noble families here would require further research. The Gracza family was one of the prominent and famous nobles of Nénye. The Graczas had a castle and manor house in Sülykipuszta (Sülyök, Sülyk, Sülyki, Sulyok). Several members of the family were soldiers and officers in the 1848/49 War of Independence. Among them, the grave of László Gracza can still be seen today on the border of Nénye and Csáb, in an area planted with vineyards close to the former puszta. The text on the tall, gray granite obelisk is still legible. It reads: “LÁSZLÓ GRACZA lived 58 years, died on July 1, 1889. May his memory be preserved by his patriotism, his work, and his iron character. May his resting dust be blessed!” Here lies the resting place of one of the former Hungarian soldiers of the War of Independence, whose grave has recently been regularly laid with wreaths on March 15th.
