Mills have been operating in Nagycsalomján since ancient times. There was once a water mill on Ipolyon. The now ruined steam mill was one of the beautiful industrial buildings of the region. It was built between the two world wars and was owned by Gyula Kiss, a well-known industrialist in the area. The multi-storey mill building stands next to the main road leading to Nagykürtös in the north-eastern part of the village. Its windows are rectangular and have semi-circular ventilation slits. The tall, red brick chimney still stands next to the building. As an industrial monument, it would be worth saving.
