Konstantin Sámuel Hamilkár Görgey of Görgői and Toporczi was born on January 23, 1818 in Levoča, the son of György József Görgey (* 1790. II.10., Levoča - † 1824. VII.4., Toporc) and Veronika Teőke (* 1790. II.5., Levoča - † 1861. VII.26., Levoča). ; Konstantin became a Roman Catholic at the age of 18 at the request of his mother, studied law in Košice and Pest and obtained his lawyer's degree in 1841. He traveled to Europe in 1840 and 46. In the fall of 1848 he joined the national guard and participated in the fight against Schlick on the Košice mountain. On September 12, 1847, he married Anna Szinyey Merse (* 1825. XI. 9., Szinyeiújfalu - † 1885. VII. 12.) From their marriage, three children were born: György Jordán Félix Görgey (* 1852. IV. 22., Görgő, - † 1912. III. 3., Levoča), Szilvia Görgey (* 1849. XII. 31., Görgő - † 1852. IX. 9., Görgő) and Aristid Görgey (* 1851. II. 9., Görgő - † 1914. VI. 30., Levoča). ; Konstantin's death was caused by the indiscretion of absolutism. The people of Spiš were organizing a carnival party in Lőcsé, which the authorities banned that evening, when the guests were already together, whereupon Count Csáky invited the entire party to Hotkócz. The party, who wanted to have fun, had barely gathered when the military surrounded the castle and, entering the room, called on the party to disperse. This action by the imperial troops and the subsequent summons so agitated the old man that he caught a cold and died. He was 42 years old. His body found eternal rest in the garden of the Catholic church in Grőgő. His wife followed him there, who died at the age of 60 in 1885. ; The tombstones are not cared for, their complete destruction is only a matter of time.
