“A Hungarian text can also be read on a crucifix made of gray artificial stone with a white iron body erected above Gazdik’s grave: “Gazdik / Antal / born 1852. Jan. 18. / died 1886. Oct. 31. / and his son / Árpád / born 1885. Feb. 17. / died 1888. Oct. 15..” Perhaps he may have even been friends with Mikszáth.”
